Inshore and offshore fishing

Some of the best conversations happen with a rod in hand and nothing but water on the horizon. Hooks For Healing brings Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers together for inshore and offshore fishing trips where the catch is part of the fun, but the crew is what makes the day matter.

Donor and sponsor support helps cover the trip essentials so participants can step aboard, learn from experienced anglers, and enjoy the day without needing their own gear or years of fishing experience.

The Boat Is Only The Beginning

Hooks For Healing takes the same camaraderie that happens around a trailhead and carries it onto the water. A fishing trip gives the group a destination, but the real value is the time between lines in and lines out: shared stories, quiet stretches of ocean, a little competition, and a crew that starts the day as strangers and rarely ends it that way.

A Tradition Worth Continuing

One of the program's memorable trips began at Fisherman's Landing in San Diego on August 6, 2024. Hero Offroad, sponsors, Veterans, and Active Duty Servicemembers boarded the Pacific Queen for a two-day trip. The group of 26 included 20 Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers.

That trip captures what Hooks For Healing is meant to be. Sponsors and supporters help make the logistics possible, experienced crews create the opportunity, and Heroes get to spend the day focused on fishing and the people beside them.
